Episode #52 of Comic Related's Related Recap is one where the host rambles on for a little while, sprinkles in some fun music, talks to a great guest and wraps with more talking and music. Along the way we cover topics like Newsarama, the state of the economy and how that impacts Comic Related, Ape Entertainment's new podcast host, New York Comic Con and, of all things, action figures. We also enjoy a great conversation with pulp and superhero writer Andrew Salmon. It may be a bumpy ride, but we think it's an epsiode you'll honestly enjoy.

In Episode #51 we travel to Comics2Games in Florence, Kentucky for a face-to-face interview with comic creators Scott D.M. Simmons and Brant Fowler. It's a great extended conversation as we discuss what brought them into comics, what roles they currently play within the industry, what projects their working on and what the future holds for them. We start out discussing thier series Wannabez, but that certainly isn't where we end and we invite you to come along for the ride.

In Episode #50 we interview Jeff Katz, the man behind Freddy vs. Jason, Snakes on a Plane, Shoot 'Em Up, Normal Adolescent Behavior and the upcoming Wolverine and The A-Team films. Jeff also found success as co-writer with Geoff Johns on Booster Gold for DC Comics and as writer of the Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash mini-series for Wildstorm and Dynamite. Jeff joins Russell Burlingame this week in what may, at first, be a bit of a confusing episode. Take a listen and all will be explained. Sometimes things just don't go as planned, but a great interview results none the less.

In Episode #49 we partner with over 20 comic podcasts joining together to feature episodes dedicated to the topic of Politics in Comics! With US Presidential elections right around the corner, we sit down with Zack Roberts and learn more about the new "Steal Back Your Vote!" comic book from Greg Palast and Bobby F. Kennedy Jr. (with art by Ted Rall, Lloyd Dangle and Lukas Kenter). PLUS In this same episode, Russell Burlingame interviews independent comic legend Terry Moore discussing Strangers in Paradise, Echo and much more. This is one you do not want to miss!

In Episode #48 Alterna Comics President Peter Simeti joins us as we talk comics, publishing and quite a bit more. During the conversation we talk about the birth of Alterna Comics, how Peter got started as a comic creator and the ever growing role he's playing in the future of Comic Related. It's two good friends chatting for the hour and it even hints at things to come.

Episode #47 shares a great conversation with Comic Related's own Russell Burlingame and offers a behind the scenes look at his columns and, ultimately, a good bit of the site itself. We welcome the writer of Conscientious Sequentials, The Gold Exchange, Reflecting 'Pool, Closing Statements, To See or Not To See and a number of other other corners of the site. Put a voice with the columnist and meet an individual you're going to hear more of on the show.

Episode #46 follows-up on what we started yesterday as we sit down for a conversation with Comic Related's own Eric Ratcliffe. Join us as we welcome the writer of Why I Love Comics, Watching the Eclipse and Proof Positive to the show and give you your first opportunity to put a voice with the columnist.

Episode #45 is more a bit of a tease than a full podcast. Settling in after more than seven hours of Mid-Ohio-Con coverage, we decided to take it a bit easier this week. First up, we unveil a few travel plans for 2009, point out a few books we think you should be reading and, in the end, introduce you to a pair of Comic Related writers. Only problem... Issue #2 of their popular series is about to make it's debut at SPX and I had to good fortune to nail these two creators down for an hour looking at their early experiences in comics, how they came together as creators and how they found the stories they wanted to tell.
